We agree on this one, Robin. I downloaded a few episodes of that from , and it was unwatchable. I couldn't get through the first one it was so bad!

There were a number of failed shows that particular season (1959 to 1960), and the only successes that I can think of were The Twilight Zone, Dobie Gillis, and the long-unseen sitcom (although I never got to see it) Hennessey.

To Betty Hutton's credit though, she was a very attractive woman even in middle age. But good looks alone don't always guarantee high ratings....

I'm glad we agree on something! I honestly think 1959-1960 was a fairly dull year for TV. Another flop from 1959-1960 was "The Dennis O'Keefe Show", which is merely mediocre.

Typing of hit series to premiere that year, I left out The Untouchables.....although the 2-part pilot for it was presented in the previous season (in April 1959) on Westinghouse Desilu Playhouse.
